![]() ![]() Note also that pillaging is how you get science from Korea, Scotland and the like!.Scythia's UU is not for fighting against walls it is for pillaging, for harassing units, and to provide flanking bonuses to your melee units, which you should be supporting with rams/towers and cats/trebs.There are plenty of people here willing to give advice. And feel free to ask specific questions if you have them. Once you get comfortable with all that you can try other civs and eventually go back and try more normal settings. There’s lots of things that could go wrong and that kind of personalized feedback is what can help you figure things out quickly. If you’re struggling, post a screen shot of what’s happening and ask for advice. In the beginning you’re just looking to survive the initial invasion, but then you can try practicing your counter-attack where you take the forces you built defensively and try to conquer a city or two. If you’re really looking to get better you can just stop after the initial conflict dies down (i.e., quit before T100) and then try again. In the beginning you can start with civs who’d be strong at this (I’d recommend Amamitore and her Pitati archers). I think Terra is great for this or you can play on Pangea and add extra civs. ![]() My recommendation is to just play a bunch of early games on packed maps where you will be forced into early conflict. On lower difficulty you can ignore these, but if you do that and have to fight against the deity bonuses you will really suffer. I think it really just comes down to practice and learning how to take advantage of small bonuses, like the ones you get from terrain. I wouldn’t recommend starting there, though. You can even win early wars with a civ that has no advantages toward early warfare. I did find domination tough at first on higher difficulties, but once you know what you are doing it is manageable. ![]()
